KC D112 – Knauf Suspended Ceiling System

The Knauf D112.ae Suspended Ceiling System with metal grid consists of lower/furring and upper/main CD channels.

Main channels are attached to the ceiling slab with hooked wires and rapid hangers or with Knauf Nonius Suspension System. Upper/main CD channels are attached to lower/furring channels with Knauf Clips in the Knauf D112 System. The Knauf UD channel is installed flush on the existing bearing system of the building with anchoring screws. This facilitates the proper alignments and installation of all base and bearing studs and channels. Knauf Gypsum Boards are installed on metal grids with screw attachment, starting at one end and gradually advancing towards the other. Knauf Joint Tape, included here in the product group of Knauf Accessories, is applied on Knauf board joints that are then filled in with Knauf Readygips.

KC A001 Suspension System

Knauf KC A001 Ceiling System must be installed in accordance with Knauf 's recommendations.

When creating an airtight space, methods for the reduction of potential “ceiling lift ’’ should be considered.

Perimeter Fixing

Mark the position of the ceiling line with a Chalk Line. Knauf UD channels should be secured to the walls at the required heights, at maximum 609mm centers and 50mm from the ends of channels.

The Knauf UD forming the perimeter and the Knauf Main C Channels do not need to be mechanically fixed together.

Suspension

Select the fixing centers suited to the ceiling load. Fix  with Knauf approved ceiling dowel to the structural soffit. Use the Knauf  L - Angle or wire and fix to the approved ceiling dowel.

Primary Support Channels – C Channels

The centers of the primary support channels should be aligned at the required height.

Knafu L - Ange should be fixed to the Knaud Main C Channels with two Knauf LN Wafer Head Screws

Splicing of the Main C Channels

If straight lengths of Knauf Main C Channels need jointing, place the channels back to back, with a minimumn 609mm overlap, and fix with two Knauf LN Wafer Head Screws.

Hat Furring Channels

The Knauf Hat Furring Channels should be positioned at 406mm centers within the perimeter channels to coincide with the abutments of the boards, which wil lbe fixed later.

Connect the Knauf Hat Furring Channels to the Knauf Main C Channel by means of Knauf LN Wafer Head Screws.

Insulation

If insulation is required, Installed once the primary support and the ceiling channels have been connected and before the boarding has started,

Knauf insulation as specified should be inserted above the primary support channels. Care should be taken to ensure that the  insulation is fitted neatly without gaps at abutments or between different rolls.

Movement Control Joints

Create movement control joints where ceiling  runs exceed 10m, coinciding where possible with movement joints in the surrounding structure.

Board Joint Reinforcement
(Only for Fire Resistant System)

Where the cut end of Gypsum board end’s reinforcement through the inclusion of additional Hat Furring Channels should be implemented.

A piece of Hat Furring channel should be located approx. 1 inch back from each board edge.

The Knauf D113.ae Suspended Ceiling System with metal grid consists of a flush grid of CD channels (60x27mm) allowing easy installation in limited ceiling spaces.

CD Channels are attached to the ceiling slab with hooked wires and rapid hangers or with Knauf Nonius Suspension System. CD channels are attached to each other with Knauf Universal Flush connectors in the Knauf D113 System. Knauf UD channels are installed flush on the existing bearing system of the building with anchoring screws. This facilitates the proper alignments and installation of all base and bearing studs and channels. Knauf Gypsum Boards are installed on metal grid with screw attachment, starting at one end and gradually advancing towards the other. • Wall Linings

Knauf Lining System

Knauf Lining System can select various Knauf gypsum boards as veneer to meet different performance requirements. The board is fixed on the lightweight steel frame composed of Knauf CD 60 profile, Knauf universal bracket and Knauf UD 28 perimeter channel.

Features:

  • Relative large clear distance between lining wall and base wall, which is convenient for filling insulation materials and laying large pipelines.

  • It is suitable for the wall with uneven surface.

  • Wide range of applications and no need of pre-treatment of base wall surface.

System components:

  • Knauf C Profile

It is the CD 60 x 27/ 0.6mm profile, which is the main component of Knauf               lining system

  • Knauf Multiconnector

It is used for extending CD profile.

  • Knauf UD Channel

It is the UD 28x27x 0.5mm profile, which can serve as the channel along top             and bottom.

  • Knauf universal bracket

It can fix the Knauf CD profile onto wall surface.

W623 System

Knauf W623.ae Linings may be specified with confidence for application to most masonry backgrounds depending on the condition.

  1. Where a variable stand-off clearance is required between lining and background of between 27 and 125mm.

  2. Where background is not aligned properly.

  3. Where insulation is required within the wall lining void.

  4. Where deep service runs are required to be accommodated within the lining void.

Knauf Linings can accommodate any of the range of Knauf Gypsum Boards, depending on the performance requirements. The boards are fixed onto a lightweight metal framework of Knauf 'CD' Channels fixed to Knauf Universal Brackets and Knauf 'UD' Channels.

The system can provide a variable stand-off from the background of between 27 and 125mm. This makes it capable to override substantial irregularities in the background.

The lining void facilitates the introduction of thermal or acoustic insulation and provides containment for service runs.

The system can be applied to the majority of all common building substrates. Pretreatment of the background is not required. Under good building practice, however, any deleterious deposits, such as mould, oil or grease, should be removed as a precaution.

The tapered edge boards can be taped and jointed using Knauf Jointing Compounds (such as Knauf Fugenfüller or Knauf Readygips ) and Accessories. Knauf Readygips can be applied as a skim coat to achieve a smooth plastered finish.

W623 (Single Layer with Insulation)

W625 System

The Knauf W625 Dry Lining System is similar to the Knauf W111 Partition Wall System with the difference that the W625 System uses gypsum boards as cladding on one side only. The Knauf W625 System significantly increases both thermal and sound insulation values with international standards. The Knauf W625 Dry Lining System can be applied on all types of wall surfaces. It is an ideal solution that meets high requirements for the thermal insulation of exterior masonry walls.

The Knauf W625 Dry Lining System:
• Is used for all types of interior wall linings.
• Insulation material, and service and plumbing lines can be easily inserted into the cavities of the lining.

• The W625 System is an easy-to-install system applied with minimum accessories that provides savings on transportation and labor. Depending on the performance requirement, the Knauf W625 System can use all types of Knauf Gypsum Boards, including Knauf Standard Board, Knauf Moisture-Resistant Gypsum Board, Knauf Fire-Resistant Gypsum Board, and Knauf Moisture & Fire-Resistant
Gypsum Board as lining materials. The Knauf W625 System consists of gypsum boards installed on Knauf CW studs and UW channels with Knauf TN self-tap Drywall
Screws. Depending on the thermal insulation requirement mineral wool may be inserted as insulation material into the cavities of the
system.
